Nomex® 410 paper is calendered and available in thicknesses from 0.05mm to 0.76mm. Thickness of 7, 10, 12, 15 and 20 mil are normally in stock and available for immediate cutting, and 3, 5, and 30 mil material can be cut with a 10 day lead time.
A critical factor in the reduction of the life of electrical equipment is heat and the type of insulation used. Nomex® 410 is rated as a class H (220°C) insulator by Underwriters laboratories (U.S.A), Lloyds register of shipping (England), American bureau of shipping (U.S.A) Military specification MIL-1-24204 (U.S.A). Nomex® 410 paper is a high-temperature resistant insulator with an excellent balance of physical and electrical properties, that has high inherent dielectric strength, mechanical toughness, flexibility and resilience. Nomex® 410 paper is made entirely from synthetic aramid polymer in two forms: short fibers (floc), and microscopic fibrous binder particles (fibrids), it is a calendered cream-colored insulation paper consisting of discontinuous synthetic aramid fibres (floc + fibrids) which are bonded together by hot calendering. Uses include electrical insulation for motors, generators, and liquid and dry transformers. Product applications include high temperature, solvent resistant gaskets, dielectric spacers and insulators.
